Monaco Celebrates National Day on November 19

November 19

🇲🇨 The Monegasque National Day, also known as Sovereign Prince’s Day or La Fête du Prince, is one of Monaco’s most important holidays, celebrated every November 19 – this year falling on a Tuesday. It’s an official public holiday honoring the reigning Prince and the Principality.

The tradition ties the date to the Prince’s patron saint, though Prince Rainier III chose his enthronement date, November 19, which coincides with Saint Rainier of Arezzo. His son, Prince Albert II, continues the custom in tribute.

In the weeks leading up to the celebration, Monaco turns red and white, with flags and decorations covering streets, buildings, and balconies.

🎆 Festivities include:

Fireworks at Port Hercule on the evening of November 18
A special Mass at Monaco Cathedral attended by the Princely Family
A military parade at the Prince’s Palace Square
City-wide celebrations filled with music, flags, and joy
A funfair at Port Hercule, open throughout the holiday

On the evening of the 18th, spectacular fireworks light up Port Hercule, marking a moment of sharing and unity for Monegasques and visitors alike.

On the 19th, celebrations begin with Mass at Monaco Cathedral, attended by Prince Albert II and the Princely Family, followed by a military parade on the Place du Palais.

The funfair in Port Hercule will also be open on the National day.

The day is a proud display of Monegasque unity, tradition, and loyalty to the Sovereign Prince.
