Monaco Energy Boat Challenge: YCM leads innovation in sustainable boating

From 1 to 5 July 2025, the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge will bring together the world’s best talents in the cause of sustainable marine innovation.  Now harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence, the event showcases cutting edge marine propulsion technologies and autonomous vessel systems. The Yacht Club de Monaco will host courses, mentoring programmes, and technological discussion and debate, putting the Principality firmly at the centre of nautical innovation.

The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge returns this summer, fusing sustainable innovationcutting-edge AI, and the thrill of nautical competition in an event that’s fast becoming the global benchmark for clean marine propulsion tech.

🚤 AI Takes the Helm
In a historic first, Artificial Intelligence joins the competition as a dedicated class, enabling fully autonomous vessels to compete head-to-head. With over 50 teams from 25 countries and elite universities like CambridgeTU Delft, and Politecnico di Milano, this edition breaks new ground in decarbonisation and digital navigation.

At the SeaLab Marina, discover the future of boating—hydrogen systems, solar propulsion, advanced composites, and next-gen prototypes. Plus, electric craft can recharge instantly at the YCM E-Dock, developed with Aqua superPower.
