Monaco hosts second Clean Fusion Forum led by Prince Albert II

Prince Albert II Opens Monaco Clean Fusion Forum to Advance Global Energy Innovation

Prince Albert II inaugurated the second Monaco Clean Fusion Forum on Monday, April 28, at the Yacht Club de Monaco, welcoming a global audience of scientists, industry executives, and policymakers to discuss the future of nuclear fusion and the integration of artificial intelligence in energy research.

Organised with the support of the Prince Albert II Foundation, the forum focused on fostering public-private collaboration to advance clean energy technologies and address the urgent challenges of climate change.

In his opening remarks, Prince Albert emphasised the importance of nuclear fusion as a potential cornerstone of sustainable energy systems and called for greater international cooperation and innovation.

Throughout the day, the forum featured expert panels and keynote speeches from leaders including representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Texas Instruments, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and private-sector firms like Alpha Ring, a pioneer in micro-fusion.

To unlock commercial fusion, the global community must move beyond individual initiatives and work together to turn data into knowledge, and knowledge into action.

Discussions also addressed public understanding of fusion, workforce development through education, and the role of AI in accelerating scientific breakthroughs. The event reinforced Monaco’s role as a forward-looking advocate for sustainable innovation and signaled the forum’s growing importance as a platform for global collaboration in clean energy development.
