Registration is open for the UN Ocean Conference 2025 in Nice, June 9-13

From June 9 to 13, 2025, the world will turn its attention to the French Riviera as France and Costa Rica co-host the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3) in Nice.

Registration is now open for NGOs, major groups, and other stakeholders.
Deadline: 19 May 2025, 23:59 EDT

A decade after the historic Paris Agreement, UNOC3 aims to bring together UN member states, heads of government, international organizations, businesses, local authorities, civil society, and donors to drive urgent action for the planet’s largest ecosystem — the ocean.

Under the theme “Working together for sustainable ocean management”, the conference will focus on accelerating efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 14 (SDG14): Life Below Water. With the health of oceans facing mounting threats from climate change, pollution, and overexploitation, UNOC3 seeks to deliver an ambitious Nice Ocean Action Plan built on three key priorities:

  1. Boosting global ambition for ocean protection through successful completion of multilateral processes.
  2. Mobilizing funding to support SDG14 and foster a sustainable blue economy.
  3. Strengthening marine science and knowledge-sharing to guide better policies.

Each day will feature plenary sessions where countries will announce new ocean commitments, alongside dynamic “Ocean Action Panels” — dialogues designed to foster collaboration among governments, NGOs, scientists, and businesses. These panels will spotlight practical solutions, catalyze partnerships, and ensure that UNOC3 is not just about promises, but about action.

As the countdown begins, UNOC3 stands as a pivotal moment to unite the world in safeguarding our oceans for future generations.
