The Environmental Photography Award 2025, organized by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, honors photographers who use their craft to spotlight environmental issues and inspire action.
The award celebrates its fifth anniversary. The competition features five categories: Polar Wonders, Into the Forest, Ocean Worlds, Humanity versus Nature, and Change Makers.
The photographs shortlisted for the 2025 edition will be exhibited on the Promenade du Larvotto in Monaco from June 3 to July 31, 2025, before touring internationally.
The photographs – almost 11,000 images participated in the 3rd edition of the competition in 2024 – are carefully selected by a jury of internationally renowned professional photographers for their technical and aesthetic excellence but also, and above all, for the relevance and strength of their message.
The Grand Prize of the 2025 Environmental Photography Award was presented to photographer Angel Fitor for the image ‘Unseen Unsung Heroes‘, winner in the “Ocean Worlds” category.
Angel Fitor has been recognized by the most prestigious photography awards, including World Press Photo, Wildlife Photographer of the Year, American Photography, and the Sony World Photography Awards
[He said] he feels as a proud ambassador of this photo competition, which carries embedded the historical, long-lasting commitment of the Principality of Monaco with the Mediterranean Sea, which has inspired [his] career since [his] earliest childhood.
